Forge Supervisor

**THIS POSITION IS BEING RECRUITED FOR INTERNALLY - RECRUITERS/AGENCIES PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT****Position is on 2nd SHIFT, full time onsite - no remote work**This position is responsible for the direct, floor level supervision of all forging, grinding, NDT & support operations at the Azusa Plant on second shift. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role shares responsibility for schedule adherence, documentation accuracy, 6S activities, data collection, & the monitoring & enforcement of safety, EHS, & forging control policies & work instructions. This role will directly lead all union employees working on the second shift and work closely with other counterparts on the first shift to ensure smooth transitions and work priorities.The statements included in this description are intended to reflect in general the duties & responsibilities of the classification & are not to be interpreted as being all-inclusive.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPlanning, directing, & monitoring the daily operation of the forge shop in compliance with policies, procedures, work instructions, & leadership goals & objectivesEnsures all quality requirements are met during production processingPromote & enforce safety in all areas of responsibility & on a plant wide basis as neededOn the floor supervision of workforceMake suggestions for materials & supplies needed for the areas of responsibilityAssists in training personnel to ensure their qualifications & skills are sufficient to meet job classifications & or for promotionCommunicates with all levels of leadership on critical issues that may impact others such as MRB, schedule adherence, safety, & maintenance issues.Assist in communicating or writing ECN's for die or BOM changes, the shop requests.Lead direct reports in areas of 6S, CI & goals & objectives for output, cost control & other metricsOther duties as may be required by supervisorQUALIFICATIONSAdequate knowledge of forging processes, equipment & working with metalsMin 2 years' experience as an operator/lead or equivalentMinimum 2 years of Supervisory experienceLeadership skills/traits in previous role(s), supported by attitude, attendance, ability to follow all company policy, & a history of taking the lead to meet company goals & objectivesAbility to use computer terminal, calculator, read & understand English, & communicate verballyAble to lift up to 70 lbs. safely, work around machines & moving vehicles, & drive a forkliftBasic math skills & ability to read basic part & die drawingsPrevious supervision experience is a plusPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSFrequent walking and standing on the production floor.
