The key responsibilities are divided into 3 main areas:Xray/Imaging ComplianceShepherd the AFC LXMO education program & new graduates comp requirementsProvide technical coaching and supervision to the AFC LXMO/RT teamImaging compliance responsibilities entail creating and maintaining standardized radiology compliance for all clinics and ongoing supervision of the LXMO/ARRT staff’s technical skills. Overall compliance responsibilities include items like ensuring that all clinic’s X-ray manuals are up to date, manuals meet or exceed federal compliance standards, all X-ray staff are routinely audited for quality assurance, and that an ongoing internal training program is developed and executed on for current X-ray staff.The AFC LXMO education program is an OBMI approved program to train AFC employees to be able to fulfill the requirements for obtaining an LXMO license in Oregon. The position will lead and coordinate the coursework and lab for this course.Occasionally, this position may be called upon to assist with imaging in one or more of the clinics. This involves providing clinical support to our providers by assisting with patient’s needs and obtaining diagnostic information via operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs. The Rad Tech will also assist patients at registration and in the clinic rooms to ensure an optimal patient experience.Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:ManagerialFoster the growth of the LXMO staff within AFCShepard the AFC LXMO program (teach courses & practicals) based upon the approved Syllabus from OBMIEnsure follow up with the Director of the program regarding regulations & updates to the programOngoing coaching for new and existing LXMO staff Radiology Technician:Perform X-Rays Perform medical assisting procedures under the supervision of physician or ACPAssist physician and physician assistant in exam roomsEscort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chartGive instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistantTake telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to Patients regarding radiology issues or questions when applicable Radiology Compliance:Maintain & improve radiology compliance program to include (but not limited to):Examine and Edit current Radiology Manual and StandardsContinued education for our AFC LXMO or RT StaffIncrease quality standards by tracking radiology staff imagesKeep track of current and expired radiology badges, and licensesPrepare and set clinics up for success re: potential random audits Supervisory Responsibility: This position will be responsible for coaching and training the LXMO group in AFC Portland - working very closely with the direct Clinic Managers of these individuals.Interpersonal Contacts: Specific Job Skills:Team player who is equally comfortable working independentlyWarm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skillsAbility to understand medical terminology.Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and dependability.Skilled in Office Productivity software (Google Docs)Exceptional customer service and phone etiquetteAbility to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flowExhibit Company Core Values:Commitment - Commitments are clearly made and metHealth - Healthy living for everyone is promoted through sustainable and responsible behaviorsExcellence - Excellence in everything we doCelebrate - Celebrate wins - both small and largeTrust - Trust builds teamwork through vulnerability and respectVaccination Policy:As a healthcare company, AFC believes that the safety and wellbeing of our staff and patients is a top priority.
