Job Seekers can review the Job Applicant Privacy Policy by clicking here.Job Description:SummaryThe purpose of the Sr. Logistics Manager is to direct and manage the design and implementation of logistics solutions that win new business and expand or continuously improve existing business with improved performance producing higher revenue and margins.Essential FunctionsPlanning and Directing Project Management and Solution Development: Directs LPLs, manages or participates in multiple projects (often simultaneously) of multiple projects. Directs the development of the solution proposal and assists in the presentation and selling of the proposal. Creates presentations to both internal and external customers. Directs others in defining the problem, organizing and managing the complexity of the opportunity. Directs the planning and management of projects and deliverables into successful results. Obtains the appropriate and necessary resources and applies them efficiently and effectively to the development of the solution. Develops and maintains the proper prioritization of projects and resources for most efficient resultsDevelopment of the Personal and Organizational Proficiency of the Team: Participates in the strategic planning for the organization. Identifies, presents and participates in the testing of tools and techniques that enhance the competency of the organization. Participates actively, including presentations and workshops in related professional and educational organizations to further the individual, team and RIL professional skills. Responsible to develop and maintain extended resource (outside the company) relationships that complements the capacity and augments the skills of the team.Recruting and Development of Team: Responsible for routine contact and fostering of coop and intern relationships with designated schools. Actively participates in the recruiting and interview process. Coaches and mentors LPLs and LEs Participates in the indoctrination of new members including LMs and Directors along with persons from other competencies or functions with the company.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned.Skills and AbilitiesProject management skills Manage complex logistics projects.
