The ideal candidate will bring strong industry knowledge and a team-oriented mindset, working collaboratively with a group of dedicated professionals to train the next generation of automotive technicians. Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required. We value real-world expertise and a genuine desire to make an impact in the classroom.Duties And ResponsibilitiesComprehend and apply the contents in the Employee Handbook and Student HandbookAdhere to and ensure the enforcement of WyoTech policies and proceduresAdminister all academic policies and proceduresAccurately complete all necessary documentation promptlyComplete as directed all responsibilities involving submission of grades, tests, attendance, and all other designated materials to the RegistrarCommunicate effectively with faculty and staff campus-wideRead through the instructor's critiques on a quarterly basisBe conversant in and support EPA and safety proceduresMaintain and attend to the repair of class equipment and tool inventoryAttend regularly scheduled instructor meetingsAttend graduation and registrationParticipate in the curriculum developmentDevelop a professional rapport with the studentsEncourage students to ask questionsDemonstrate patience in answering repetitive questionsEncourage motivation and enthusiasm in the shop and classroomEncourage student interest and attentivenessDisplay enthusiasm for the subject matterMaintain eye contact with studentsMake students aware of professionalism infractionsEncourage students to do safe, quality workStress safety precautionsHold necessary review classesPrepare adequately for class and shop prior to start timeHave supplemental teaching items readyAlways monitor the classRemain in control of the class throughout the lessonExplain completely the requirements for each lessonEstablish a feeling of need; create interest, and clearly state lesson objectives in lesson introductionsChallenge the students to do their bestUse appropriate teaching methods to accomplish objectivesFollow lesson plan, summarize the lesson, and stay on the subject being taughtProvide appropriate information, resources, and assignments for a lesson (text, reference books, information sheets)Working with and utilizing CANVAS LMS system to update presentations and delivery informationDemonstrate items to strengthen student understandingDemonstrate competency in teachingObjectively apply all evaluationsAssociated Knowledge And SkillsStrong people skills Enthusiastic and motivating Sound judgment and critical thinking skills Excellent communication skills Professional experience Any certifications and or other training in the field of expertise Direct Reports to this PositionIST (Instructional Support Technician) RequirementsMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Work Verification Background check 7 years’ experience within the last 10 years, or upon Approval by the Licensing and Training Director 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years with Associates Why WyoTechWork with students to make a difference in their livesWork with a great company that supports not only their staff but the community as wellTeam buildingTuition reimbursementCompetitive benefit packagePTO and paid holidays401KHealth insurance, vision, and dental are includedLife and short-term disability The Laramie community has the small-town charm with big city events.
