Job Title: TechnicianLocation: Danbury, CT 06810Duration: 12 MonthShift: 7am-3pm | M-FComments/Special Instructions:Overtime is based on business needs and may require Saturdays.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma/GED, or equivalent requiredSuccessfully pass a criminal background screening and drug testAbility to lift up to 40 lbs., and stand for periods of up to 3 hours at a timeBasic hand tool skillsMust be able to perform repetitive assembly using hands and arms which includes bending and stretchingMust be able to wear cotton clothing, steel toed boots, safety glassesBi-lingual skills in English and Spanish preferredAbility to safely perform timely electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.Possesses troubleshooting and mechanical skillsAbility to lead and take a leadership role if necessaryFamiliar with LOTOAt least 2-5 years of machine maintenance experienceDetailed knowledge of the operating characteristics of packaging machinery, supporting systems, their functional relationships, and the applicable installation and repair procedures, methods, and trade practicesMust have the ability and knowledge to safely use hand and/or power tools as well as hoistsMakes authorized adjustments and modifications to equipment as needed to maintain production, while ensuring quality and productivityPerforms or assists with product or equipment changeoversForklift experience is a plusAbility to perform work independently and cover for supervision when neededAbility to read, write, and understand English (Bi-lingual skills in Spanish preferred)Cross-culture communications skills, with emphasis on interpersonal/teamwork skillsStrong interpersonal skillsEffective written and verbal communications skills requiredComputer literateAbility to understand basic hydraulics, pneumatics, technical writing/drawingsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel Responsibilities:Takes on the tasks of Operator Level 1, 2, 3, Production Support Associate, and Packing Associate as necessary to assist production when necessary (repairs and maintenance permitting)Performs quality inspections, process tests and records data accurately as requiredWorks with little to no direct supervisionOperates and maintain fork trucksUses a forklift to move finished and raw material pallets in the warehousePerforms housekeeping duties as necessary to promote safety, tidiness, and efficiencyWorks closely with all operators, packers and supervision to ensure optimal shift operation and production machine performancePerforms cross shift communications to ensure that issues are communicated and documentedKeeps machinery and work area in a clean and orderly conditionFollows all safety rules, and works in a safe mannerFamiliar with, and fully implements LOTO during maintenance and repairsKnowledge of basic control systems is a plusPerform other tasks as assignedTakes a leadership role when requiredUses computers to document machine performance, repairs, and manufacturing dataSupports business needs by working overtime and on weekends as necessary to satisfy schedule requirements
