District Reading Specialist

Description The Clintonville Public School District is seeking an innovative full-time District Reading Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. The District Reading Specialist will provide leadership and assist in the development, implementation, and on-going professional development for all district reading programs. This individual will work closely with district-wide reading teachers, classroom teachers, administrators and others as a resource teacher in reading. In addition to the leadership role, this position includes providing systematic interventions to improve academic achievement for elementary students while collaborating with all stakeholders. The individual will oversee student progress monitoring and maintain records in accordance with WiMLSS, Title I, AGR, and ACT 20 requirements. This position entails assisting classroom teachers in identifying, selecting and modifying instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds and learning styles. In addition, this position oversees and trains instructional paraprofessionals in the district. The individual will also assist in the yearly evaluation of literacy intervention programs and work on curriculum revision as a member of the district and building literacy teams. Additional qualifications: - State of Wisconsin Elementary Teacher Licensure in Reading #1317/5017 - Strong knowledge of reading foundational skills - Knowledge of WiMLSS process - Knowledge of systematic reading interventions - Knowledge of effective teaching practices - Ability to work in a collaborative manner with other staff members - Strong communication skills - Strong organizational skills - Ability to design lessons that meet the educational needs of all students - Understanding of relevant common core standards - Experience working with diverse learners and supporting culturally responsive practices Salary and benefits are determined by the Board of Education as per negotiated salary terms.
