About The Role
We’re seeking a Senior Accountant who will play a key role in managing the financial health of our company and clients. This is a unique opportunity for a self‑starter who loves music, is organized, and wants to be part of a growing, dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
Month‑End / Financial Operations
Lead and execute the monthly and year‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Support financial statement preparation and reporting.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Oversee day‑to‑day transactions including invoicing, vendor payments, and incoming receivables.
Track, manage, and reconcile credit card and expense reimbursements.
Royalty & Commission Reporting
Prepare and issue quarterly and bi‑annual royalty statements for publishing and master rights.
Calculate and issue management commission reports.
Analyze royalty income and identify variances or trends across DSPs, PROs, and licensing partners.
Client Administration & Onboarding
Set up new client accounts and maintain client financial records.
Coordinate with internal teams for contract and metadata alignment related to financial reporting.
Respond to client inquiries regarding statements and payment status.
Cash & Treasury Management
Monitor cash balances and forecast cash flow.
Manage intercompany transfers and coordinate with external accountants for tax filings and compliance.
Ad Hoc Analysis & Support
Conduct profitability and recoupment analyses for clients and projects.
Support financial planning, budgeting, and audit preparation.
Help evaluate and implement accounting software or workflow improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA is a plus.
3+ years of accounting experience (entertainment/music industry experience strongly preferred).
Basic understanding of royalty structures and music business revenue streams (publishing, master, sync, mechanical, etc.).
Proficient in QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with royalty software a plus.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for music and supporting creative talent.
