Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Delaware, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who excels in financial analysis and reconciliation, and is eager to contribute to the success of an educational institution. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Responsibilities:- Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.- Perform detailed bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions.- Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.- Reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain consistency and accuracy.- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.- Support audits by providing required documentation and explanations.- Monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures.- Identify discrepancies and propose solutions to improve financial processes.- Collaborate with other departments to address accounting-related inquiries.- Maintain organized financial records for easy access and review.
