We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting Retina specialists in providing high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding and willingness to learn about ophthalmic procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
Gather preliminary patient medical history. Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity tests, tonometry, OCT, fundus photography and fluorescein angiography. Assist in minor surgical procedures and ensure aseptic techniques are followed. Maintain and manage medical records accurately and efficiently. Educate patients on eye care, treatment options, and post-operative care. Collaborate with Retina specialists to provide comprehensive patient care. Handle retail sales of eye vitamins and related products when necessary. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision. Proficiency in aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology specific to ophthalmology is a plus. Ability to manage medical records with attention to detail. Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
