Basic Function:
The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for business development, pipeline creation, and revenue growth within AFB Floors’ commercial multifamily new construction (CT) segment. This role focuses on ground-up construction projects, including podium, wrap, and large-scale multifamily developments. This is a non-management, individual contributor role dedicated exclusively to selling, relationship development, and opportunity capture. The position works in close partnership with estimating and operations but does not manage people, projects, or subcontractors.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Execution
o Develop and maintain relationships with multifamily developers, general contractors, construction executives, and project teams.
o Prospect and pursue ground-up multifamily new construction projects from early planning through bid award.
o Drive opportunity creation through market intelligence, networking, jobsite visits, targeted outreach
o Own the full sales cycle from initial engagement through contract award and handoff.
Pre-Construction & Pipeline Development
o Identify upcoming projects through GC/developer relationships, bid calendars, and construction pipelines
o Participate in early design-assist and pre-construction conversations where applicable.
o Maintain a disciplined, forward-looking pipeline of qualified CT opportunities.
Estimating & Internal Coordination
o Partner closely with estimating teams to develop accurate scopes, alternates, and pricing, and align bid strategy with project risk and opportunity
o Coordinate internal handoff post-award to ensure clarity of scope, expectations, and client commitments.
o Participate in pre-award and pre-construction meetings as needed.
CRM, Forecasting & Sales Discipline
o Maintain accurate CRM records for active opportunities, bid schedules, forecasted revenue
o Provide reliable sales forecasts tied to construction timelines.
o Participate in regular sales reviews and pipeline discussions.
Market Representation & Client Experience
o Represent AFB Floors as a professional, reliable, and construction-savvy partner.
o Communicate clearly, follow through consistently, and manage expectations with GC and developer partners.
o Uphold AFB standards for responsiveness, accountability, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in commercial construction sales, preferably multifamily new construction
Strong understanding of GC/developer sales cycles, competitive bidding environments, construction timelines and scopes
Demonstrated success winning ground-up commercial projects
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Comfortable working cross-functionally with estimating and operations
CRM proficiency preferred
Physical/Sensory Requirements:
Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently.
The employee is required to use hands and fingers for tasks and occasionally stand, walk, stoop and reach.
Noise levels may vary from moderate to noisy.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects as part of the duties.
