Cloud Infrastructure Architect

Cloud Infrastructure ArchitectThe Cloud Infrastructure Architect reports to the Manager of Infrastructure Architecture and is responsible for designing and supporting highly available, high performing and cost optimized enterprise computing platforms to support the Firm's technology needs. The specific area of focus will include the strategy, architecture and implementation of hosted cloud solutions, including both public facing IaaS / PaaS / SaaS solutions, as well as private cloud solutions within the Firm's internal datacenters, brought together to meet the needs of the Firm.Responsibilities:Responsible for gathering requirements, establishing evaluation criteria, assessing and comparing options and designing and implementing enterprise solutions to meet defined business outcomesEnsure effective design of the Firm's enterprise Infrastructure services, spanning across both public cloud IaaS / PaaS / SaaS (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) and private cloud datacenter solutions (e.g. EMC, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, CommVault)Play a leading role in critical cross functional initiatives, including creation, adoption, migration and operation of public facing Cloud environmentDevelop automation solutions including an Infrastructure as Code approach to establish and maintain automated, integrated and continuous deployments within public cloudEnsure Infrastructure operations are effective and optimally established and supported across all layers including server, storage, backup, monitoring, patching services and monitoringEstablish best practice disaster recovery architecture, operation and supporting process. Work with engineering and support teams to implement, maintain and governance; administration teams to establish run books.Collaborate with engineering and service teams to establish multi-year roadmaps for Infrastructure service areas across datacenter / cloud, network and telephony.Develop and implement changes to processes to ensure continuous process improvement and effective governanceContribute to ongoing maintenance of the server and storage build policies, procedures and communications, developing updates, as neededCapture and analyze key metrics across Infrastructure service areas and use influence for continuous service area improvementEngage with developers and DBAs to establish optimized environments across functional areas of responsibilityProvide thought leadership, innovative ideas and drive towards cross-functional partnership. Make presentations to stakeholders in support of desired solutions.Develop automation, orchestration and cloud based systems designDesign, implement and document data feeds and scripting and interoperability between applications that share and/or utilize the same data or databasesCommunicate effectively and appropriately with both technical and non-technical audiences. Ensure transparency and well planned-out communication.Ensure effective vendor relationships with IT staff as it relates to value delivery and supportFamiliarize with Program/Project Management solutions and processes use both to establish and track designated initiatives and status updatesFamiliarize with ITSM tools including ServiceNow and/or others in placeOther duties, as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience operating or maintaining systems in a 500+ Windows server enterprise server environmentMinimum of 5 years work experience with architecture; designing and deploying enterprise solutions to meet business needs across virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V) and infrastructure (Cisco, EMC, Client)Minimum of 2 years work experience with automation / orchestration / scripting tools for server / storage deployments either in public cloud or on-premisesDemonstrated experience with designing and deploying cloud services across IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, as well as on-premises datacenter based solutions, including Converged / Hyper Converged Infrastructure.Operational experience supporting business needs on a 24x7 basis, including the use of ITSM tools, including ServiceNowMicrosoft solutions across OS, AD, patching and VMware virtualization expertiseFamiliarity with commonly used software licensing methods and license accounting practicesAbility to create detailed technical diagrams and supporting documentationDemonstrated ability to communicate technological information to business leadersProven experience with vendor management and negotiation.Ability to work off hours for scheduled or emergency maintenance and/or upgradesPreferred:ITIL foundations certificationProfessional services industry experience – financial, accounting, consulting, legal, etc.Demonstrated experience with Unified Communications services across voice, data and mobility, as well as networking solutions including MPLS, SD-WAN and Internet.Demonstrated experience with federated Identity and Access Management solutions, including 2FA/MFA, as well as Cloud Access Security Broker tools, to govern secure access to resources.
