Machinist - 2nd Shift
This position will set up and machine parts to the drawings and blueprint specifications to meet customer requirements. Must possess the skills necessary to perform duties. Must also possess the necessary precision equipment/tools to perform the duties of this position.
Essential Job Functions (Fundamental job duties):
Set up and operate all machines
Machine parts to required tolerances
Inspect parts and make adjustments as necessary to meet quality requirements
Perform all necessary hand operations such as filing, fitting, and scraping
Work independently and travel domestically to support the business needs of the customers
Marginal Job Functions (Non-fundamental job duties):
Checks dispatch list for next job
Cleans machine table & machine
Sweeps floor and mop
Record labor for job by keying data into terminal
Train or instruct employees as necessary and as assigned
Education (What is the minimum education level necessary to complete the essential functions of the position?)
High School or equivalent
Machine Trade School Certification or equivalent work experience
Applicable math background and skills
Blueprint reading and interpretation skills
Working knowledge of the machinability of metals
Thorough knowledge of geometric tolerancing
Understanding of Micro finishes and how to obtain specific finishes
Experience (What are the minimum years experience necessary to complete the essential functions of the position?)
One to three years
Machine setup experience
Mandatory Qualification Requirements (What are the mandatory qualification requirements for the position?)
Mathematical background and capability to interpret and read blueprints in order to perform necessary functions of machine operation and machining of parts
Ability to machine parts per engineering specifications
Ability to use precision measuring equipment
Ability to verify and check precision parts to print
Possess necessary hand tools and equipment needed to perform required functions
