Use critical thinking and detailed systems analysis / evaluation techniques to assess and diagnostic information. Recommend solutions or next steps, and guide field service personnel or other specialists to solve issues. Initiate improvements by escalating towards the next higher if required. Supports in conducting standard site surveys to develop base or installation design plans. Provides support in training customers to maintain and adjust standard equipment. Supports in preparing and submits reports covering all job activity and expense. Provides support in maintaining standard tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc. Comply with OSHA safety practices and perform duties within specified guidelines to ensure safety of self and supporting crew. Available to respond for emergency and relief assignments. 80% domestic and international travel. Remote work permitted.Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered, as a Field Service Technician, Electronics Technician, or an acceptable alternate occupation. Position requires experience with the following: Demonstrated knowledge of power transmission and distribution systems. Experience with Switchgear, MV or LV Circuit breakers. Knowledge and/or experience with SF6 Gas circuit breakers, and GIS switchgear metal clad/vacuum switchgear. Knowledge and/or experience with breakers or LV equipment testing, including analyzing test results and equipment condition assessment. Experience in troubleshooting & repair of electrical control circuits. Effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as good presentation skills.
