Corporate Tax AnalystThe OpportunityOur client is a growing oil and gas exploration and production company with a strong presence in the Appalachian Basin. With continued expansion and increasing regulatory complexity, the organization is looking to add a Corporate Tax Analyst to its Corporate Finance and Tax team.This role is ideal for a motivated, high-potential professional who wants broad exposure to income tax provisions, partnership tax activities, and transaction-related work in a fast-paced, public-company environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring timely, accurate tax reporting while gaining hands-on experience supporting strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions and process automation.LocationHybrid position based in Houston, with an expectation of working onsite three days per week.What You'll Be DoingMaintain and manage the corporate tax calendar to ensure timely compliance with all filing deadlinesAssist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisionsPrepare detailed workpapers supporting tax provisions, including identification of book-to-tax differencesPrepare, review, and file estimated tax payments and extension calculations for income and other taxesSupport partnership-related tax activities, coordinating with internal business partners as neededPrepare and reconcile tax-related balance sheet accounts, including liabilities and adjustmentsAssist with tax integration activities related to mergers and acquisitionsSupport and coordinate with third-party tax service providersAssist with tax notices, audits, research requests, and special tax projectsContribute to tax process improvements, efficiencies, and technology enhancementsSupport the execution of tax initiatives across the broader corporate enterpriseWhat Our Client Is Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field2+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax and/or public accountingProficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics tools; experience with Quorum and BlackLine strongly preferredFamiliarity with data analytics platforms or robotic process automation (RPA) tools is a plusHigh level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial informationStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts to non-tax stakeholdersProven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight regulatory deadlinesCollaborative, team-oriented mindset with a desire to grow and take on increasing responsibility
