Senior Accountant

Ascend Management Services Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team — and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.This role supports a multi-entity healthcare services platform that includes Elevate Respiratory Therapy Group and Horizon Wound Care Group, which are ancillary service providers to skilled nursing facilities. The position works directly with our CFO and carries real ownership across the accounting function.Core responsibilities include:Own the month end closing process including, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, reconciling account balances, transaction recording, and financial analysis.Perform balance sheet, revenue, expenses, and payroll account reconciliations as well as executing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and be able to research and resolve variances.Assist in preparing entity and consolidated financials in accordance with US GAAP and owning certain the monthly financial reporting package.Coordinate annual financial statement review and manage data flow to outside CPAs.Prepare and provide support for internal and external parties, while also understanding the business to be able to respond to a variety of inquiries.Provide oversight oversight and review of offshore staff accountantsPrepare budget preparation and rolling cash projectionsSupport our ERP transition from QuickBooks Online to NetSuite or Sage IntacctUtilize Claude AI as an integrated productivity tool for accounting schedules and analysisThis is a hybrid role based out of San Clemente or Valencia, CA (3–4 days in office). For highly qualified candidates, we are open to a direct hire at the Accounting Manager level.REQUIREMENTS:4+ years of accounting experienceHealthcare or skilled nursing facility accounting is a plusCPA or CPA candidate is a plusNetSuite or Sage experience is a plusOVERALL:The role has a quick upside potential to accounting manager.
