Tactical Operations Controller The Tactical Operations Controller works to streamline and improve the communication flow between OCC and flight crews. This role reports to the Head of OCC and will ensure that Crews are kept fully informed, and their operational questions or needs are addressed in a timely manner.Responsibilities: Crew CommunicationsEnsure timely and efficient communication between Crew, OCC, and AM/CS.Ensure all details about each flight are confirmed in GV (e.g., the slots match, permits are confirmed, the FPL is filed for the correct time, the flight package reached the crew and coordinating last minute adjustments to the FPL, when required).Ensure that crew acknowledges their briefing and provide phone call out for changes to tasking that are time sensitive.Flight FollowingUpdating and maintaining the daily tactical log.Maintaining full overview of all the flights for the current day.Monitoring of crew briefing acknowledgements and making crew activations / wake-up calls as applicable by relevant AOC`s procedures.Before each sensitive flight (ferry or revenue), check if the crew is ready, the aircraft is ready, that handling, fuel, catering are in place. Be the first to raise an alert if anything may impact the trip.Communicate aircraft movements to handlers, airports, or authorities (e.g., CBP) as required.Live monitoring of non-ETOPS flights for significant weather changes enroute, volcanic activity and alternate aerodrome suitability. Acting by immediately notifying the Duty Manager for further follow up when appropriate.Ensure that GV has the appropriate movement records that trigger automated movement messages.Tactical ControlKeep a constant overview of flight movements and informing the relevant parties in case of deviations.Monitoring and responding to phone calls, emails, and Webex chat messages.Communicating any delays/deviations to OCC and AM/CS as needed and as soon as possible (WX, ATC regulations, maintenance, any other issues affect or may affect a flight).When applicable, gather all relevant information and initiate the IRT call according to the ERP.Flight Log Verification ReviewPrompt handling of day-of irregular operations while in coordination with the Duty Manager and other relevant teams.
