Laboratory Quality ManagerGlobal Systems Technologies, Inc. (GST) provides engineering and information technology services to both Government and private sector customers, having facilitated the evolution and certification of aviation security systems for the last 25 years. Headquartered in Yardley, PA, GST also maintains offices in Absecon, New Jersey and in Arlington, Virginia. GST is the prime contractor for the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Professional Engineering and Logistics Support Services (PELSS-2) contract, supporting the fields of baggage screening, passenger screening, surveillance, air cargo/intermodal security and technology integration. Under the PELSS-2 contract, we interface with Government and international entities, equipment manufacturers, airports, and personnel from all modes of transportation. We provide liaison to the R&D community, report on emergent technologies, perform tradeoff studies, develop system architectures, and produce standards, specifications and requirements. GST also supports the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Transportation Security Laboratory (TSL) at the W.J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlanta City, NJ. Technical support ranges from lab management to research and development (R&D) on the detectable properties of the explosive materials, new technology for explosive detection in passenger and cargo screening, testing and certification explosive detection equipment. The company's core capabilities include systems engineering, R&D, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Human Factors (HF) engineering, Configuration Management (CM), and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS).Job DescriptionSalary Range: $70,000.00 To $154,000.00 AnnuallySummary: We are seeking candidates for a Laboratory Quality Manager in Washington, DC. The Laboratory Quality Manager will ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO17025 and is followed at all times. The Quality Manager is responsible for providing daily oversight of all aspects of the QMS.Roles/Responsibilities:Reviews daily laboratory data/reports and provides timely results to Government representative by deadlineProvides quality review and authorization of material selection, usage, and qualification in conjunction with Government representativeEnsures in control performance of laboratory analysis, including ad-hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical review of all laboratory areasCoordinates participation in external accreditation and proficiency test programs and reporting of resultsLeads contractors during quality and procedure review meetingsIdentifies, documents, and reports any non-conformances to managementReports any process deficiencies to managementProvides reports to management on the performance of the QMS during Management ReviewsPrepares and maintains documentation and training/certification recordsIn conjunction with Government representative, develops experimental design and requirements documentation ("test plans") for new laboratory tests and methodsEvaluates test plan results and provides statement regarding fit for intended usePrepares quality status reportsCoordinates and performs laboratory procedure reviews and recommendationsRequirements:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science related field3-5 years of recent related laboratory work experience in a certified (e.g., EPA, NELAC, ISO17025) public health or environmental laboratory2 years of demonstrated quality management, leadership and decision-making experienceExtensive knowledge of quality management systems and quality improvement tools and techniques such as Six Sigma or Lean as well as working knowledge of accreditation standards, practices, and guidelines sufficient to advise and guide laboratory managers and supervisors as they implement and maintain accreditationWorking knowledge of computer and analytical software programs sufficient for evaluation of electronic data, data interpretation, and report developmentStrong understanding of the principles, practices, and techniques of the various analytical areas of the laboratoryExperience conducting quality assurance audits and reviews to determine compliance status and recommend corrective action plansSecurity Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and DHS SuitabilityBenefits: When you work for JRAD you will never be just a number.
