Electrical Instrumentation TechnicianJob Summary:In this position, Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and will be assigned to perform maintenance which includes areas of expertise in electrical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, PLC/DCS programming and troubleshooting. Your primary goal is to ensure safe and efficient production by responding to changing conditions in a timely manner.Essential Functions include but are not limited to:Working in all areas of the plantInstrumentation and Electrical repair and troubleshootingElectrical Repairs: Motors, Motor Starters, VFD, Running Conduit and Wire PullingTroubleshooting and repair of PLC/DCS systems and Plant Steam Boiler Control SystemsProgramming of PLC/DCS systems60-70% of the technician position is conducting instrument/electrical repairs and installationsMoves, sets, calibrates, as needed, instrument/electrical controls such as - flow control valves, limit switches, auto levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables such as: flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units such as: heaters, coolers, thermal oxidizer, compressors, exchangers, and other unitsDetermines malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as alarms and lightsInspects/troubleshoots equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction such as leaks, breakages and faulty communication cables, determining what repair and maintenance of equipment is neededMonitors units to verify safe and efficient operating conditionsKeeps equipment clean and lubricatedQualifications: Excellent written, verbal and personal skillsAbility to handle multiple tasksAbility to work well with others and the ability to work independently.Ability to work with Maximo the maintenance CMMS system.High School Diploma or GEDAbility to lift up to 60 lbs.Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and careExperience with Arc and MIG weldingMechanical background with bearing changes, pumps, conveyors, etc.Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in the areas of planning, organizing, interpersonal communicationsStrong Electrical Experience requiredPLC/DCS knowledgeKnowledge of Hart, Field Buss, Aussie, Devise Net, Delta V Communication Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Control Systems.Ability to read and update electrical and device net online drawingsUnderstanding of discrete and analog systemsPneumatic & Hydraulic Experience strongly preferred Interested applicantsWork Environment/Physical Demands:Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs. and work at heights.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.The employee is regularly exposed to dusty conditions.The employee is regularly exposed to high noise environments.The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditions.The employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used in the process.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
