Your expertise in metal fabrication and modification will directly contribute to the safety and success of various projects, ensuring technical standards and quality controls are met consistently. This role allows you to apply your technical skills in a dynamic environment, supporting essential maintenance and fabrication operations.Responsibilities Fabricate, repair, modify, and install various sheet metal parts, assemblies, and structures using tools and equipment according to required specifications. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise installations. Use had tools for drilling, tapping, countersinking, inserting hi-loks & helicoils. Select and adapt standard procedures, referencing fully applicable precedents for guidance, and work independently on tasks after initial instruction. Ensure all work meets technical adequacy and conforms to instructions and safety regulations. Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to review equipment requirements and project instructions. Responsible for handling and organizing parts, ensuring they are incorporated correctly into larger assemblies. Perform aviation welding duties as needed, adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Understand and apply all applicable internal/external guidance, instructions, specifications and standard operating procedures. Travel as required to various locations, both CONUS and OCONUS, for Aircraft installations.Competencies Strong ability to interpret and execute non-standardized and prescribed assignments. Excellent knowledge of physical properties and working characteristics of sheet metals. Proficient in using and maintaining tools and equipment utilized in the sheet metal trade. Skilled in shop mathematics and principles to calculate precise measurements. Capable of adhering to safety and quality standards. Capable of working independently and managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines.RequirementsQualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication, repair, and installation. Must have aircraft modification experience. Demonstrated ability to follow complex instructions, use mechanical drawings/blueprints, and produce reliable work independently. Must be able to locate aircraft locations using waterlines, butt lines, and frame stations. Familiarity with aircraft grade hardware (Solid rivets, Hi-loks, Dzus fasteners) and composite layups and repairs. Experienced in the use of measuring tools (Scales, dial calipers, etc.) Experience operating pneumatic rivet squeezers, rivet guns/ bucking bars, torque wrenches, drills, etc. Experienced in wet sealing applications of hardware, antenna mounts, etc. Experience welding aluminum and steel preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen and can obtain a US Security Clearance to the level of SECRET.Physical Demands Must be able to stand, kneel, or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to use fall protection equipment.
