The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400+ businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative fields. A Brooklyn Navy Yard based company is seeking an Estimator. The position involves estimating costs and pricing of new fabrication projects alongside the marketing and fabrication teams. This position will ensure there is a healthy pipeline of work and strong margins. Responsibilities: -Maintain correspondence with potential clients - Create material takeoffs (in Rhino 3D) -Generate estimates and proposals under guidance of managers. -Serve as the main point-person for requesting and sending COI’s (certificates of insurance) -Compile and submit pre-qualifying application materials -Maintain the company’s trade memberships. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree or higher - 2-3 years of professional experience in fabrication, construction, architecture, or a related field -Advanced proficiency with the following software and applications: ○ Google Workspace, specifically Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets ○ Microsoft Excel ○ Adobe Creative Cloud Suite ○ Rhino 3D or similar CAD/CAM software -Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy -Strong (clear and effective) written and spoken communication skills - Professionalism and comfort interfacing with clients -Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills in a fast-paced working environment -Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on teams -Must be eligible to work in the U.S. We imagine that you have a broad set of interests and skills, and that you wouldn’t be happy focusing on just one of them.
