Using advanced clinical judgment and surgical expertise, the surgeon evaluates patients, determines the need for operative intervention, performs complex cardiothoracic procedures, and provides comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care. The Cardiac Surgeon works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes in accordance with Baylor Scott & White Health standards of care.Essential Functions Of The RoleClinical Judgment: Conducts comprehensive patient evaluations, interprets diagnostic studies, and determines appropriate surgical and non-surgical treatment plans. Performs cardiac and cardiothoracic procedures with precision while adhering to evidence-based practices.Clinical Inquiry: Participates in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and outcome evaluations to enhance surgical practices and patient care standards.Patient-Centered Care: Provides compassionate, ethical, and individualized care to patients and families throughout the surgical journey.
