About the CompanyHeart Starts Pounding is a growing true crime, horror, and mystery media company built around host and creator Kaelyn Moore. We produce a weekly podcast and YouTube show, have large social followings across platforms and a great Patreon community. We’re also in the works on new projects at various stages of development.The RoleThis is a hybrid role for someone who wants to grow a creator-led brand and support the team running it. The bulk of your week will be social media and growth work. Things like YouTube optimization, social posting, community engagement, campaign execution, and collab development. Some of your week will be executive assistant work, supporting Kaelyn and Matt with scheduling, errands, fulfillment, and the operational tasks.This isn’t purely creative or EA. It’s both, and it’s a good opportunity to learn the creator and podcast/digital business as they evolve. Kaelyn comes from a traditional entertainment background in film/tv development at Atomic Monster and Ace, and Matt has been a strategic and creative lead at major orgs like 20th Century Fox and FX Networks.What You’ll Do WeeklyYouTube optimization: manage thumbnails and titles, run continuous A/B tests, track performance, iterate based on data. Social media: Manage day-to-day posting across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms. Film and edit short form content. Stay on top of trends and bring Kaelyn ideas for short-form videos she can shoot. Help shape what we're posting and why.Community engagement: Respond and engage across our channels — Patreon, comments, DMs, the Rogue Detecting Society newsletter audience. Responsible for monthly newsletter. Manage HSP Book Club.Campaign execution: Project-manage major brand moments throughout the year — Dark Summer, Halloween, holiday, listener appreciation, photo shoot rollouts, merch drops. Coordinate vendors, designers, and contractors to ship campaigns on time.Collabs: Identify potential collab partners across the creator and podcast space, do initial outreach, facilitate scheduling, and help coordinate execution.Listener Submissions: Review listener story submissions to identify potential stories for HSP episodes.What You’ll Do as NeededExecutive assistance: Help Kaelyn manage her schedule, handle correspondence, support logistics for appearances and events, and step in on administrative or personal tasks as they come up.Community fulfillment and operations: Coordinate the operational pieces of community programs, e.g. sending patrons codes for merchandise, picking up packages, handling event specific activities that come up regularly.Who you are2+ years of experience in creator economy, social media, podcast/YouTube growth, talent or talent agency support, or brand workFluent in YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram as platforms. You understand thumbnails, hooks, retention, trendsStrong project manager who can hold multiple campaigns at once without dropping thingsComfortable with creator tools (YouTube Studio, scheduling platforms, analytics tools, basic Canva or Adobe)A genuine fan of true crime, horror, or mystery. You don't need to be a Heart Starts Pounding listener, but you should be excited about the genreSelf-starter and proactive.
