The Township of Holmdel is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Tax Collector to join its Finance Department. This is a full-time supervisory position that reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities include overseeing all functions related to the collection of municipal charges in compliance with State statutes and municipal directives. The Tax Collector will be responsible for the billing, calculation, preparation, and mailing of property and sewer utility taxes and PILOT assessments; carrying out enforcement procedures, including conducting electronic tax sales; preparing required State reports and monthly reconciliation reports; ensuring all statutory requirements and deadlines are met; overseeing the receipt, reconciliation, and deposit of all tax payments collected by the Tax Collector's Office; and supervising a staff of two clerks.Candidates must possess a current and valid Certified Tax Collector's Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and have a minimum of five years of professional experience in municipal tax collection, at least two of which must have been in a supervisory role. Familiarity with Edmunds Tax Collection software is preferred.This position offers a salary range of $85,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a full benefits package consisting of medical, prescription, and dental coverage, participation in the New Jersey Public Employees Retirement System, and paid time off.
