Cloud Security Engineer

SummaryCybersecurity Engineers are a group of professionals who ensure that systems, services, applications, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. The Cloud Security Engineer is expected to have a beginning to moderate understanding of complex IT systems and stay up to date with the latest security standards, systems, and authentication protocols, as well as best practice security products.In this role, the engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, auditing, testing, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure and applications across the organization.Core RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Expertise with SaaS (Software as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a service), and PaaS (Platform as a Service) environments and implementing security controls in those environmentsProficiency in assessing cloud security across different cloud service modelsProficiency in implementing, maintaining, and managing security controls in Azure and Office 365 cloud environmentsExperience performing security assessments and audits of cloud environmentsExperience with OAUTH and ADFSExperience developing reference architecture and standards for cloud deploymentsExperience implementing and maintaining CASB and CSPM servicesProficiency in reviewing and assessing cloud service contracts, agreements, and statements of work with a focus on data security, data ownership, shared responsibility models, and compliance requirementsStay up to date on the latest security and industry trends including their compliance requirementsMaintain knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and CIS and other security technology by attending workshops and reviewing publicationsResponsible for overseeing the security controls for the company with minimal oversightResponsible for designing and implementing new security technologies with minimal oversightWith minimal oversight, provide training to other members of the teamWith minimal oversight, maintain complex project tasks and interface with various teamsCollaborate with other security team members to assist with broad reaching projectsEffectively deal with rapid change in a positive mannerAssist in process improvements to enhance the efficiency of current operational proceduresCoordinate relations with and serve as a liaison between security and other business areasAssist in developing short-term and long-term department goals which support long-term strategic goalsEnsure the coordination and communication of production changesParticipate in company/location driven communication efforts, including huddles, department meetings, and other related effortsMaintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, support resources, and the community with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service to present a professional image of D&H DistributingPerform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient mannerEducation And/or ExperienceEducationAssociates degree in Cybersecurity or similar area of study required or equivalent years of related work experienceBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or similar area of study preferredExperienceAt least 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity with cloud security preferredIndustry certifications (CCSP, CEH, Security+, CISSP, MS AZ-500 or similar) preferredScripting experience in PowerShell, Python or Perl preferredKnowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, Python, etc) preferredAdvanced experience in either Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon AWS platforms preferredProficiency in implementing automated provisioning and orchestration in cloud environments preferred
