This organization operates a high-throughput cloud infrastructure processing billions of consumer and advertising signals daily, with a strong emphasis on automation, AI-enabled workflows, and modern engineering practices.This is a highly impactful individual contributor role for a hands-on security engineer who thrives in cloud-native environments and wants ownership over security operations, cloud security architecture, automation, and incident response. The ideal candidate is deeply technical, comfortable operating autonomously, and excited about leveraging AI tooling to scale security operations and reduce manual effort.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and strengthen the company’s AWS cloud security posture across IAM, networking, encryption, secrets management, and multi-account governanceManage and optimize AWS-native security tooling including GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, Config, Inspector, and related servicesDesign and review secure infrastructure patterns across Terraform, CloudFormation, and cloud-native deploymentsLead detection engineering, threat hunting, incident response, alert triage, and vulnerability remediation effortsOperate and improve SIEM, SOAR, and endpoint security tooling environmentsDrive Zero Trust initiatives and endpoint hardening across employee devicesBuild automations, scripts, and internal tooling to streamline security operations and reduce repetitive manual workUtilize AI coding assistants and automation platforms to accelerate security engineering workflowsLead incident response activities including containment, forensic analysis, root cause analysis, and postmortem documentationPartner cross-functionally with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, Legal, and Privacy teams on secure system design and compliance initiativesSupport audit readiness efforts including SOC 2 and related security frameworksConduct third-party vendor security reviews and contribute to security awareness initiativesMentor engineering teams on secure coding, threat modeling, and security best practicesEducation & Qualifications6+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, or security operationsStrong expertise securing AWS environments including IAM, VPCs, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and multi-account architecturesExperience leading real-world security investigations and incident response processesStrong scripting or software development capabilities in Python, Go, or similar languagesExperience building security automations and operational toolingFamiliarity with AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering productivity toolingStrong understanding of security frameworks including NIST CSF, CIS Controls, OWASP, and MITRE ATT&CKExperience implementing cloud-native monitoring and detection systemsExperience supporting compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, or similarHands-on experience with endpoint security tooling, EDR platforms, and device hardeningPreferred ExperienceExperience with detection engineering and large-scale SOAR automationInfrastructure-as-Code security experience with Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormationContainer and Kubernetes security experience, particularly within EKS environmentsExposure to multi-cloud environments including GCP or AzureFamiliarity with AI/LLM security concepts and emerging AI security frameworksIndustry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, AWS Security Specialty, GCIH, or related credentialsExperience building internal security platforms, agent frameworks, or custom automation toolingContributions to open-source security or cloud infrastructure projectsWhy Our ClientOpportunity to own and shape security strategy at a modern, AI-enabled technology companyHigh-impact role with broad technical ownership and executive visibilityWork alongside strong engineering teams building large-scale distributed systemsStrong investment in automation, AI tooling, and modern security practicesCollaborative, high-performance culture focused on innovation and continuous improvementSignificant opportunity to influence architecture, tooling, and long-term security directionCompensation, Benefits & PerksSalary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 per yearEquity participation100% covered medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees401(k)Generous PTO policyPaid parental leaveFlexible hybrid work environmentTeam offsites and company eventsFully stocked office and catered lunchesLife and disability insuranceFSA programs and employee wellness resourcesLocation:Glendale, CA3x/week Hybrid / onsite collaboration environmentApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
