Chief Operating Officer (COO)Greenline LogisticsPosition SummaryGreenline Logistics is seeking a high-impact Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale a national LTL/PTL transportation and cross-dock operation across multiple terminals and operational tribes.The COO will be responsible for end-to-end operational execution, network performance, service reliability, operational profitability, safety culture, and organizational scalability. This role oversees daily operations across linehaul, pickup & delivery, cross-dock operations, fleet coordination, dispatch, network planning, and operational performance management.The ideal candidate is a builder and operator who understands how to scale an asset-based transportation company with strong operational discipline, high accountability, modern management systems, and data-driven execution.⸻Core ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership* Lead nationwide LTL/PTL operations across terminals, tribes, pods, and operational streams* Oversee: * Pickup & Delivery Operations * PTL Linehaul Operations * Cross-Dock Operations * Dispatch & Planning * Fleet Coordination * Network Performance * Service Recovery & Exception Management* Drive operational excellence across safety, service, utilization, and profitability* Build scalable operational systems, SOPs, operating rhythms, and accountability structures⸻Network & Service Management* Optimize terminal-to-terminal network flow* Improve transit times, dock throughput, and route efficiency* Manage service levels and customer operational experience* Reduce operational waste, empty miles, claims, detention, and inefficiencies* Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to improve yield and contribution margin⸻Leadership & Organizational Development* Lead regional operational leaders, terminal managers, dispatch leaders, and operational tribes* Build a high-performance culture focused on ownership, accountability, coaching, and execution* Develop future operational leaders through structured management systems* Align operational teams with Greenline’s POD/Tribe operating model⸻Systems & Process Improvement* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across: * TMS * ERP * Dispatch systems * KPI dashboards * Operational analytics * Automation initiatives* Partner with IT/Data teams to improve operational visibility and decision-making* Establish data-driven management and operational KPI governance⸻Financial & Performance Accountability* Own operational KPIs including: * Operating Ratio (OR) * Contribution Margin * Service Performance * On-Time Pickup & Delivery * Dock Productivity * Fleet Utilization * Cost per Mile * Claims Ratio * Driver Productivity* Support decentralized POD-level operational accountability and performance management* Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and network expansion initiatives⸻QualificationsRequired Experience* 10+ years of transportation/logistics operational leadership experience* Strong background in: * LTL operations * PTL / partial truckload * Cross-dock networks * Asset-based transportation * Multi-terminal operations* Experience managing large dispatch and operational teams* Strong understanding of operational finance and KPI management⸻Preferred Qualifications* Experience scaling regional or national transportation networks* Experience implementing TMS/ERP systems* Background in modern operational management systems* Experience with Agile/POD operational structures is a plus* Strong analytical and operational problem-solving capabilities⸻Leadership ProfileWe are looking for a leader who:* Operates with urgency and ownership* Builds systems, not chaos* Leads through accountability and execution* Can scale people, processes, and operations simultaneously* Understands both operational detail and strategic direction* Thrives in fast-growth and transformation environments⸻What Success Looks Like* Improved operational profitability and OR* Higher service reliability and customer retention* Scalable multi-terminal operational model* Strong operational culture and accountability* Stable and predictable operating rhythms* Data-driven operational execution* Continuous network optimization and operational scalability⸻About Greenline LogisticsGreenline Logistics is a fast-growing asset-based transportation and logistics company specializing in regional and national LTL/PTL freight solutions.
