About the jobPrincipal Investigator – Cardiometabolic / EndocrinologyAustin, Texas | Full-Time | 15–20% TravelSummaryA physician-led Principal Investigator opportunity within a growing and highly regarded clinical research organisation focused on advancing innovative therapies in cardiometabolic and endocrine disease.This position has been created due to growth and expansion and is a key hire to strengthen scientific and medical leadership across an important and expanding research portfolio.This role offers the chance to make meaningful impact in a high-growth setting, work directly with sponsors and CROs, and help shape the future of clinical research in areas including obesity, diabetes, metabolic disease, lipid disorders, and related cardiometabolic conditions.Ideal background: Physicians with strong clinical experience looking to move into a Sub-Investigator / Principal Investigator trackActive Principal InvestigatorsStrong Sub-Investigators ready to step into a PI roleWhat You’ll DoServe as Principal Investigator for cardiometabolic and endocrinology clinical trials, with overall responsibility for medical oversight, patient safety, and protocol compliance Provide scientific and clinical leadership across studies in areas such as obesity, diabetes, metabolic disease, lipid disorders, and cardiovascular risk reduction Partner with sponsors, CROs, and internal teams to support study delivery, feasibility, recruitment strategy, and portfolio growth Represent the organisation in sponsor meetings, site visits, and other external scientific engagements Ensure all research activity is conducted in line with FDA regulations, ICH-GCP standards, and study requirementsWhat You BringMD or DO with active medical license Board certification or specialization in: Endocrinology, Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Strong clinical background in: Obesity, Diabetes, Metabolic disease, Lipid disorders, Related cardiometabolic conditionsPrior clinical research experience preferredExperience working with pharmaceutical sponsors or CROs preferredCompensationBase salary: ~$220,00-$250,000 baseFlexibility to increase for the right candidate Broader package can be discussed confidentially during the processApplyIf you’re an active Principal Investigator Or an experienced Sub-Investigator ready to step into a PI role Or a physician in clinical practice looking to enter clinical research as a Sub-Investigator, with a path toward becoming a Principal Investigator I’d welcome a confidential conversation
