Director, Corporate Accounting (Confidential Client)Location: San Diego (Hybrid) Compensation: $170,000 – $190,000 base + bonus + long-term incentivesOverviewA leading global investment firm is seeking a Director of Corporate Accounting to lead U.S. accounting operations across a complex, multi-entity structure. This is a highly visible leadership role within the finance organization, partnering closely with senior executives to scale accounting infrastructure, enhance reporting capabilities, and support continued growth.This opportunity offers the chance to combine strategic leadership responsibility with a high quality-of-life location.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timelinessOversee revenue recognition and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606)Manage accounting and reporting for equity method investments and complex ownership structuresMaintain and enhance a strong SOX control environment and internal controls frameworkServe as a key liaison for external audits, coordinating quarterly reviews and annual auditsPartner cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, and senior leadership to support strategic initiativesOversee statutory reporting and compliance across relevant jurisdictionsDrive process improvements, automation, and ERP optimization initiativesLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting teamQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership rolesStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition and investment accountingExperience in a multi-entity, complex, or global organizationProven ability to lead teams and operate in a fast-paced environmentExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and process optimizationPrior experience in public accounting and/or investment management is a plusWhy This RoleHigh-impact leadership role with direct exposure to executive leadershipOpportunity to build and scale accounting operations in a growing platformExposure to complex transactions and investment structuresBased in San Diego — offering a strong balance of career growth and lifestyle
