Litigation Clerk
OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Clerk to join our New York office. This role supports a fast-paced litigation practice and plays a key part in maintaining accurate docketing, calendaring, and court-related workflows. The Litigation Clerk will work closely with the Managing Clerk's Office to ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory deadlines, provide calendar management, assist with filings, and help coordinate various court services. This position is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic legal environment and enjoys managing complex procedural demands.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain the firm's master litigation calendar, including setting notifications and supporting individual attorney calendarsPrepare calendar reports and customized docket reports as requestedCalculate deadlines based on applicable rules, statutes, and court proceduresMonitor case dockets, research litigants, and coordinate with outside vendors to obtain publicly filed documentsServe and file court documents-both electronically and manually-across federal and state courtsCollaborate with the Managing Clerk's Office to maintain accurate and up-to-date docketing and calendaring processesRespond to case team inquiries by providing deadline information, rule interpretation, and procedural analysisCoordinate or perform court service functions, including retrieving documents, reviewing and filing submissions, and working with process serversTrack case progress, obtain decisions and order updates, and communicate status changes to responsible attorneysAssist with department projects such as docket audits, outstanding motion lists, appeal lists, and practice-related reportsProvide general office support and perform additional duties as assignedMaintain accurate time entries in the firm's timekeeping system QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred4-6 years of relevant experience preferredProficiency with calendaring tools such as CourtAlert and CompuLawExperience with electronic filing systems (e.g., PACER, NYSCEF)Familiarity with online court databases including Bloomberg and CourtlinkStrong knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules, including CPLR and FRCPExceptional attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and communication skillsDemonstrated customer-service orientation and professional demeanorAbility to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and external vendorsWillingness to work overtime as neededExperience performing docketing and calendaring responsibilities within a law firm environmentUnderstanding of docketing best practices and loss-prevention principlesWork EnvironmentHybrid schedule: typically 3 days in-office (Tuesdays and Wednesdays required) and 2 days remoteStandard hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM; overtime may be required based on workload
