DescriptionSalary: $60,000 - $64,500/yearThe start date for this position is estimated to be early- to mid-September 2026.Gunnison is seeking a Desktop Technician to support the Department of the Interior/Indian Affairs (DOI/IA) user base. This role provides end-user computing support across enterprise environments, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and network infrastructure. The Desktop Technician III will install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, support standard and specialized applications, and ensure reliable IT operations.Duties And ResponsibilitiesServe as a senior technical resource, leading projects and providing advanced troubleshooting while operating with little to no supervision. Perform advanced troubleshooting across enterprise desktop and network environmentsLead technical projects, system upgrades, and deploymentsDevelop and maintain project management documentationServe as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IT systems and initiativesProvide mentorship and guidance to junior techniciansSupport specialized software applications (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD)Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful project deliveryAssist in process improvement and operational efficiency initiativesRequirementsAssociate degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 4 years of related technical experienceStrong experience supporting enterprise desktop environments and infrastructureAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and office applicationsAbility to develop project documentation and lead initiativesDemonstrated ability to work independently without guidanceExperience leading projects and coordinating technical teamsSome managerial experience supporting teams of 5+ staffMust be a U.S. CitizenMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearanceThe salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.BenefitsGunnison Consulting Group's total compensation package also includes bonus and profit-sharing opportunities, depending on company and employee performance.
