Transportation Driver / Maintenance Tech
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to provide transportation services as needed and maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide transportation services to Guests, Residents, and Patients as scheduled.
Assists members/residents in and out of the vehicle, stopping the vehicle with each drop-off and providing stand-by assistance, according to procedure.
Provides excellent customer service to all members/residents.
Secures wheelchairs and walkers safely on the vehicle.
Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions.
Perform routine maintenance, tasks and repair as directed.
Participate in emergency preparedness and emergent response needs throughout the community.
Deliver general supplies to all departments as required.
Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relations when interacting with other staff members and the public.
Attend meetings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience:
Must possess, at minimum a High School diploma or GED.
Must have at least 1 year in maintenance/similar field.
Clean Criminal Record
Current Maine Driver's License in Good Standing
Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
Other:
Works in all areas of the building.
Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
Communicates with maintenance personnel, and other department personnel.
Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
May be required to work on weekends and holidays as needed.
May be required to work different shifts as needed.
