Job Title: Nursing Assistant I Location: Lenoir, NC Shift: Night Shift (3x12) | 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM Schedule: 36 hours/week (3 days/week)Compensation: Local Pay: $22/hr. on W2Travelers: $25/hr Weekly Gross: $900 weekly total (Weekly Stipend: $540 Non-taxable + Taxable: $10/hr. on W2)Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant I provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. This role supports routine clinical procedures, assists in patient care activities, and ensures a safe, therapeutic environment—particularly within psychiatric and acute care settings.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist healthcare providers with routine examinations, procedures, and emergency equipment preparationProvide direct patient care including bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility assistanceMonitor and record vital signs, height, weight, and patient condition changesCollect specimens and perform basic clinical procedures (e.g., glucose checks, wound care, catheter care)Support patient admission, orientation, and discharge processesObserve, document, and report patient status to RN/physician promptlyAssist in psychiatric care including behavior support, de-escalation, and therapeutic interactionsMaintain a clean and safe patient care environment (linen changes, stocking supplies, equipment sterilization)Transport patients, specimens, and medical equipment as neededReinforce patient education and document understandingAssist in onboarding new staff and students when requiredRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum 6 months of relevant Nursing Assistant experience (or completion of CNA course)Listed as Nursing Assistant I in the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry (no substantiated findings)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare ProvidersStrong communication skills (verbal and written English)Basic computer proficiencyPreferred SkillsExperience in psychiatric or behavioral health settingsStrong patient care and interpersonal skillsAbility to handle high-stress situations and provide compassionate care
