Rail Manager – Industrial Rail OperationsLocation: North Mobile, AL Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–4:00 PM | On-call as neededCompensation: $90,000–$95,000 base + bonusThe OpportunityWe are seeking a Rail Manager to lead all internal rail operations at our Axis, Alabama site. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing train movement, rail safety, infrastructure maintenance, and a large union/non-union workforce supporting a high-volume industrial operation.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate internal train scheduling and rail movements to meet operational and customer demandsOversee rail car securing, strapping, and weigh operations to ensure safety and load integrityLead, develop, and manage a team of ~40 employees (rail operators, strappers, weigh masters)Enforce safety standards, conduct audits, and maintain strong housekeeping practicesOversee maintenance of rail infrastructure, including tracks, signals, and rolling stockDevelop and manage operating and maintenance budgets; identify cost-reduction opportunitiesHandle customer inquiries and service issues professionally and efficientlyTrack and report KPIs including safety incidents, on-time performance, and maintenance metricsSupport long-term planning, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency initiativesQualifications7+ years of management or supervisory experience in rail operationsStrong working knowledge of railroad operations, safety regulations, and best practicesProven ability to lead large hourly teams in an industrial or transportation environmentStrong decision-making, organizational, and communication skillsComfortable using scheduling, reporting, and maintenance tracking systemsWillingness to work flexible hours as requiredAbility to pass drug screening and physicalBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability Insurance (effective 1st of month after hire)Paid Time Off (Vacation + Personal Days)Bonus Program401(k) with 6% company match
