Knack Works is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Junior to Mid-Level Platform Engineer to support the design, implementation and maintenance of our specialized developer platforms. The role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience building and maintaining platforms, automating infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring security and compliance, collaborating with development teams and providing tools to help developers within the platforms.What We Offer:Knack Works offers an employer funded Profit-Sharing Plan (PSP) valued at up to 25% of base salary and an Individual Benefits Account (IBA), a use or get paid out benefits package, also valued up to 25% of base salary to cover medical benefits.Total Package Value: Base + PSP + IBA - Up to $270,000Opportunities for personal and professional growthHands-on exposure to real-world, rewarding projectsSupportive team environment with mentoring by some of the best in the fieldCompetitive salaries, and outstanding benefits package with many lucrative perksTraining and certification supportResponsibilities:Manage Linux systems (on-premise and cloud infrastructure)Provide hardware and software support for users, customers and personnelCollaborate with a team of engineers to design, implement and test features and functionality to support Knack Works' high performance computing productsSupport the development of system documentationDevelop and define techniques and tools to support the most efficient solution to meet program needsMaintain and provide technical expertise in all areas of hardware, software and networkingAbility to troubleshoot systems, performance, and security issuesFollow change management and implementation best practicesCollaborate with systems, security, and support teams as neededScripting experience (e.g., bash, python, ansible, etc)Execute and coordinate the end-to-end remediation of critical and high-risk vulnerabilities, including analysis, patching, mitigation, and validation.Deploy, upgrade and manage containerized applications in a Kubernetes ClusterBuild containerized applications to include building containers, writing helm charts, and testing helm deployments in Dev and Test Kubernetes ClustersAutomate infrastructure tasks using tools such as Ansible, Python or Bash3-7 years of hands-on Linux system administration experienceAt least 1 year of experience working with Kubernetes Clusters or related cloud native technologyKnowledge of DevOps practices and automationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fieldExperience with installation and implementation of hardware, software and networking equipmentFamiliarity with common hardware vendors (e.g., HP, Dell, etc.) and cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.)Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentationStrong troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsGood communication and collaborations skills with the ability to work in a team environmentExperience working in development and operational environmentsA current active TS with SCI eligibility and willingness to take a polygraph examAbility to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification within the first 6 months of employmentDesired Requirements:Current TS/SCI with PolyHypervisor configuration and maintenance experience (e.g., VMware, Libvirt)CompTIA Security+ CE certificationExperience with:System monitoring toolsLinux OS (RHEL/Rocky/Fedora/RHEL compatible)Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure or similar)Experience working in an enterprise or multi-site environmentsKubernetes experienceLDAP knowledgeJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
