Interim CFO / Head of Finance (Venture Capital Fund)

We are partnering with an emerging venture capital firm in the early stages of launch, seeking a hands-on finance leader to build and establish the firm’s financial and operational infrastructure from the ground up. This is a highly visible, project-driven role with direct exposure to the founding team and the opportunity to transition into a long-term leadership position.Key Responsibilities:Lead the buildout of the firm’s finance and fund operations infrastructure from inceptionOversee fund structuring and coordinate closely with legal counsel on entity formation and setupSelect and manage third-party service providers, including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisorsEstablish financial reporting processes, capital call and distribution mechanics, and investor reporting frameworksDrive the firm’s RIA registration process and ensure ongoing regulatory complianceDevelop internal controls, policies, and operational workflows to support scalable growthPartner with the founders on strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecastingAct as the primary finance point of contact for LPs, service providers, and internal stakeholdersQualifications:10+ years of experience in fund finance, preferably within venture capital, private equity, or a fund administratorPrior experience building or significantly scaling fund operations strongly preferredDeep understanding of fund structures, capital activity, and investor reportingExperience supporting or leading RIA registration and compliance processes is a plusStrong project management skills with the ability to operate independently in a startup environmentHands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with a strategic mindsetWhy This Role:Opportunity to build a fund platform from the ground upDirect partnership with experienced foundersHigh-impact role with visibility across all aspects of the businessPotential to transition into a permanent leadership position as the firm grows
