The Navy is developing upgrades to provide future capabilities to the Trident II missile as part of the Life Extension 2 (LE2) program. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of mechanical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication for the LE2 program. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and management services for several mechanical launch/platform systems.Job DutiesTasking will include project management of products assigned, including resource management, scheduling, and quality assurance of products.Work directly with vendors and manufacturers of mechanical systems, custom fabrications, and assemblies to ensure on time and sufficient deliverables. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.Interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan, and report status.Responsible for leading multi-disciplined team of engineers, logisticians, and technicians to ensure program objectives are met.Candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that technical and programmatic issues associated with the effective execution of the program are resolved. Candidate shall be responsible for reviewing and interpreting technical requirements, developing, and defending the program budget, and ensuring project execution.QualificationsRequired QualificationsB.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and five (5) years or more experience or Master's and three (3) years or more experience.Experience with engineering design and analysis in areas such as vibration, acceleration/shock, thermal and pressure.Experience with Systems Engineering principals.Problem solving capabilities - identifying and analyzing problems, seeks/generates and evaluates alternative solutions.Demonstrates ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present information to a wide range of audiences.Must be a US citizen able to obtain clearance up to the level of SECRET.Desired Qualifications FEA (ANSYS), MATLAB, CFD/Aerodynamics, Vibration analysis, and Heat transfer/thermal analysis.
