Senior Plumbing Engineer / Senior Plumbing Designer📍 New York City, NY (Hybrid)We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Plumbing Engineer / Designer to join a growing and technically driven MEP consulting team in New York City. This is a lead technical role for an engineer who wants to remain hands-on in design while also owning project delivery, coordination, and client interaction across some of the most complex building projects in the NYC market.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to take ownership of high-profile projects while mentoring junior staff and influencing technical direction.🏗️ What You Will DoLead plumbing system design from concept through construction documentation on complex building projectsDesign and size full plumbing systems including:Domestic water (cold/hot water, booster systems, recirculation)Sanitary waste and vent systemsStorm drainage systems (including high-rise and complex roof drainage conditions)Natural gas systems (as applicable)Specialty systems (medical gas experience is a plus)Serve as the lead plumbing engineer on assigned projectsCoordinate directly with architects, structural engineers, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection teamsLead internal QA/QC reviews prior to submission to clientsParticipate in client meetings and provide technical leadership during design discussionsSupport construction administration including RFIs, submittals, and field coordinationMentor junior engineers and designers and help elevate overall team capabilityContribute to BIM coordination using Revit and Navisworks environments🎯 What We’re Looking For7–15+ years of plumbing engineering/design experience in consulting engineeringStrong background in commercial, high-rise, healthcare, or institutional projectsProven ability to independently lead plumbing design scopeStrong understanding of NYC Building Code, IPC, and relevant plumbing standardsProficiency in Revit and AutoCAD requiredExperience coordinating multidisciplinary construction documents in complex buildingsStrong communication skills with clients, contractors, and internal teamsAbility to manage multiple active projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment🏙️ Ideal Project ExperienceWe are especially interested in candidates with experience in:High-rise residential and mixed-use towersHealthcare facilities (hospitals, outpatient, surgical centers)Commercial office towers and corporate campusesTransit-oriented or infrastructure-adjacent projectsComplex renovation / phased construction in urban environments💡 Why This Role Stands OutThis is a true senior-level technical role, not just a production position.
