Tax Advisor
We are seeking a talented tax professional to join the firm’s tax practice. As a Tax Advisor, you will be expected to be the lead team member for tax compliance and tax planning for some of the firm’s clients.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and sign off on federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, non-profits, corporations, and partnershipsManage existing and build new client relationshipsOversee tax planning strategies for clients and run tax projectionsPrepare internal memos, written tax guidance, and correspond with IRS and state tax authoritiesSupport and collaborate with the advisory team on tax planning related functionsManage workflow, budgets, and billingsEvaluate and develop processes and procedures to improve tax department efficiencyQualificationsMinimum 5 years of public accounting experience with an extensive background in taxationCPA or JD required; Master’s in taxation preferredAbility to manage multiple client engagement and projectsProficiency in or ability to adapt quickly to new tax software and research tools (i.e., CCH Axcess Tax, BNA Income Tax Planner, and CCH IntelliConnect)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong research and analytical skillsWillingness and desire to be part of a teamCompensationSalary range: $125,000 – $175,000Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, and Disability Insurance for employees are 100% paid for by the company401(k) Plan + matchOur CultureEmpirical is truly unique.
