Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest-growing and largest kids coding franchise with over 600 locations in the US, Canada, and the UK. In our center, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Our core promise is, Kids have fun, parents see results. We believe in these words so much that it’s written on the walls in our center. *What are we looking for?* We are looking for an after-school *Code Sensei (Instructor)* to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you. This position will start out with after-school instruction 1-2 days a week. Available work is contingent on the number of classes available per quarter. *Responsibilities include:* * Learn the curriculum so you can teach it to ninjas. * Traveling to Tucson-area schools to provide after-school instruction. * Lead a class of up to 10 elementary or middle-school age students. *Qualifications:* * Mature high school students, college students, or college/high school graduates * Must have reliable transportation * Works well with others; collaborates * Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or sharp enough to quickly pick up the basic concepts * Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently * Must be able to pass AZ fingerprint clearance *Preferred Qualifications:* * Work history with children ages 5 and up (babysitting, mentoring, coaching, tutoring) * Computer science background (classes or work experience) * Possess current AZ fingerprint clearance card *Schedule:* * Afternoons after school for a three-hour shift (includes travel time to school). * Potential additional hours may open up to work at the Code Ninjas center.
