Senior Cloud Architect Job Summary:The Cloud Architect is an IT professional who designs, maintains, and evolves a cloud infrastructure for running applications.Senior Cloud Architect Qualifications and Responsibilities:Be responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and growth of the cloud infrastructureBuild, release, and manage the configuration of all production systems as neededAssist with management of continuous integration and deployment methodology for server-based technologiesWork alongside architecture, engineering teams to design and implement any scalable software services as well as cloud-based disaster recovery solutionsEnsure necessary system security by using best in class cloud security solutionsResearch and evaluate new cloud solutions per business requestsImplement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines when necessaryRecommend process and architecture improvementsTroubleshoot the system, solve problems across all platforms and application domains as neededOversee pre-production acceptance testing to ensure the high quality of a company’s services and productsSenior Cloud Architect Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience5+ Years of experience designing and maintaining Cloud solutionsExperience designing, building web environments on major Cloud platformsExperience building and maintaining cloud-native applicationsA solid background in Linux/Unix and Windows server system administrationExperience using DevOps tools in a cloud environment, such as Ansible, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.Experience installing and configuring different application servers such as IIS, JBoss, NGINX, Tomcat, and WebLogicExperience using monitoring solutions like CloudWatch, Dynatrace, ELK Stack, Splunk, and other Cloud monitoring solutionsAn understanding of writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), using tools like CloudFormation or TerraformKnowledge of one or more of the most-used programming languages available for today’s cloud computing (i.e., SQL data, XML data, R math, Clojure math, Haskell functional, Erlang functional, Python procedural, and Go procedural languages)Experience in troubleshooting distributed systemsProficiency in script development, scripting languages, automation best practicesThe ability to be a team playerThe ability and skill to train other people in procedural and technical topicsStrong communication and collaboration skillsSenior Cloud Architect Preferred Experience:Success working on high performance teamsDelivered solutions in large scale enterprise environmentsPrior consulting or professional services experienceMotivated to continually improve your craft, sharing and learning every dayExceptional integrity with the desire to create the best possible customer outcomesUnderstanding of the theory, concepts, and real-world application of Continuous Delivery (CD)
