Assembly Float
ASSEMBLY FLOAT JOB SUMMARY:
Assembly float role works in the assembly department where needed to reduce bottlenecks and backlogs in production. The role will be required to perform various assembly jobs that require close-up microscopic work, close tolerances, and attention to detail. Must be able to use basic equipment and small tools and fixtures. Must have good vision, manual dexterity and be able to perform manual repetitive tasks in a production environment. Requires reading, understanding and working from work procedures, drawings, general instructions or operation sheets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Magnetic Head and Component Assembly includes:
Use of microscopes, fixtures and epoxies
Cable and connector assembly
Soldering of various parts including contacts and cables
Coil taping and winding
Operates equipment such as coil winders, and ovens
Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, gauge blocks, and micrometers
Utilizes more complicated fixtures, tooling and optical comparators, basic electrical diagnostic tools and electrical test fixtures.
Read and follow detailed drawings and processing documents
Responsible for the quality of all work performed and ensuring that discrepancies are properly reported and corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence
Responsible for performing all work in a safe manner and identifying hazards and reporting to Supervisor and/or Safety Coordinator
Typical work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
