Pediatric Medical Assistant
We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Medical Assistant to scribe for two pediatricians. Experience with pediatrics and fluency in Spanish is required. The Pediatric Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting Pediatric Physicians in providing patient care services.
Key Responsibilities:
Under supervision of the clinic administrator and provides effective and safe patient centered care within regulatory scope of practice.
Collects and records patient data: height, weight, BMI, temperature, pulse, blood pressure according to established policies and procedures.
Perform lab tests like routine venipuncture and fingersticks.
Administers immunization and all medications per provider's order after a licensed health care professional verifies the correct medication and dosage.
Ensuring all vaccines are up to date and in the patient's chart and CAIR before placing patient with provider.
Administer Snellen eye exams and audio exams are completed.
Familiar with MediCal and CHDP PM 160 form.
Maintain medical equipment and supplies, and sterilize instruments.
Applies / removes bandages and dressings.
Applies principles of aseptic technique and infection control per policy and procedures.
Performs and documents PPD skin placement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
Current Medical Assistant Certification
Previous experience working with pediatric patients
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health records (EHR) software
At least 2 years of healthcare experience
Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in a healthcare environment with exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
