Join us in providing exceptional healthcare services and making a difference in our communities.ResponsibilitiesIndependently and accurately perform routine and complex molecular testing, including DNA/RNA extraction and PCRReview preliminary and final test results.Assist in resolution of technical problems in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.Record, compile and maintain records according to laboratory policies to ensure state and federal regulations are upheld for all reagents, procedures, and equipment used in the testing process.Assist in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new procedures and protocols.Maintain patient confidentiality.Coordinate daily communications of laboratory with physicians and other parties.Participate in educational activities.Perform other related work as requiredClia Qualifications (42 Cfr 493.1489)Doctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics.Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical lab technology.Educational equivalent to Associate’s degree with at least:60 semester hours including 24 semester hours of medical lab technology;OR60 semester hours including 24 hours of science that includes 6 hours chemistry, 6 hours biology, and 12 hours chemistry, biology, medical technology in any combination;AND3 months training in each specialty in which high complexity testing is performed.Additional Qualifications1-2 two years of experience in a molecular CLIA licensed clinical laboratoryMedical Technologist board certification preferredAbility to read and comprehend English and follow instructionsGood communication and critical thinking skillsUnderstanding of statisticsAbility to creatively think under pressure and handle high stress levels, changing environments, and possible irregular work hoursAbility to recognize potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and/or hazardous chemicals in the workplace and execute safety protocols in the event of exposure or spillMust be able to demonstrate competency for all required diagnostic tests and other areas of assignment within 3 months of hire dateWORKING CONDITIONSPossible exposure to bloodborne pathogensPossible exposure to hazardous chemicalsPhysical RequirementsAbility to climb stairs, lift 35lbs, sit or stand for long periods, and walk/bend downVisual and auditory acuity and good eye/hand coordinationDIRECT REPORTINGReports to the Lab SupervisorPay starting at 25/hr
