The LSS Center for New Americans seeks an ESL Instructor with a love for teaching and a passion to serve refugee and immigrant adult English Learners. Teaching opportunities will include daytime hours between 7:45am and 2:30pm. May also include evening and weekend instruction. Maintain class attendance and teach classes with the plans and materials provided. May be called on to prepare lesson plans for long-term substitute teaching assignments. Maintain regular communication with supervisor regarding availability for any upcoming subbing opportunities. Communicate with regular instructor about class content covered.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor”s degree in Education, English or related field and one year of teaching experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be enthusiastic, well-organized and reliable. Must have cross-cultural experience and an ability to communicate with limited English speakers. Must be flexible and able to teach English to beginning level students with limited previous formal education.
