The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing and posting journal entries. Responsibilities include reconciling bank and credit card accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports. The role also includes monitoring cash flow, supporting inventory-related accounting, and working with accounting software to ensure accurate and timely data entry. The Bookkeeper will collaborate with management to provide financial insights, support budgeting activities, and help maintain compliance with internal policies and basic regulatory requirements.Qualifications Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate recording of daily transactions and maintenance of the general ledger.Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and basic financial reports.Proficiency with accounting software and related tools, with the ability to learn new systems as needed.Experience in finance-related tasks such as cash flow tracking, budgeting support, and account reconciliation.Knowledge of journal entries (accounting), including adjustments, accruals, and month-end close activities.High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a small team.Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience in a retail or small business environment preferred.Associate’s degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
