This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with up to three years of experience who are eager to develop their skills in software development within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, debugging, and supporting manufacturing software systems that incorporate measurement, inspection, machine vision, image processing, data collection, machine learning, and reporting functionalities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions in a collaborative environment. The position requires onsite presence in Painted Post, NY, with standard work hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.QualificationsCandidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. We welcome new graduates and professionals with 0-3 years of software development experience. Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, C++, Java, and MATLAB is essential, along with experience in web services, microservices, and object-oriented programming. Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like Vue, React, or Angular is preferred. Candidates should have experience with version control systems such as Git, GitLab, or Subversion. Knowledge of SDLC, software testing, QA processes, debugging, and problem-solving is required. Experience working with relational databases and data analysis is advantageous. Additional experience with sensors, cameras, motion systems, image processing, or control systems will be considered a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and documentation.ResponsibilitiesThe Software Engineer I will be responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing software systems, including measurement, inspection, and machine vision applications. Key responsibilities include writing clean, efficient code, conducting thorough testing and debugging, and supporting the deployment of software solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design software architectures, and ensure system integration. The engineer will also assist in troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to sensors, cameras, and control systems. Maintaining documentation of software design and development processes is critical. The candidate will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing system performance and implementing enhancements.
