Position: Business and Operations ManagerIdeal start date: July 20, 2026Location: OnsiteNorth Seattle French School’s mission is to cultivate a community of globally-minded independent thinkers through bilingual education.North Seattle French School (NSFS) is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and proactive Business & Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our bilingual French–English school serving students in preschool through Grade 5. A key part of the leadership team and reporting directly to the Head of School, this role is essential to ensuring that all non-instructional functions run smoothly and cohesively.This position requires exceptional organizational skills, clear and effective communication, and the ability to develop and maintain strong operational systems across all areas of the school. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven, multicultural environment and brings both strategic thinking and hands-on execution to their work.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & FacilitiesDevelop and maintain strong and efficient operational systemsEnsure a safe, well-maintained, and efficiently run campus environmentLead safety planning and communicate protocols clearly to staff and communityOversee technology and infrastructure needs with an organized, solutions-oriented approach with effective follow-throughLiaison with Shoreline School District for facility needs, lease renewal, negotiation with the landlordMaintain business compliance including license renewals, State Board of Education report, OSPI reports, and DCYF regulations for licensed childcare facilitiesFinance & BudgetingOversee daily financial operations with strong attention to detail and organizationWork closely with accountant for monthly payroll and expense reconciliationMonitor budgets, track income and expenses, and ensure accurate, timely reporting, including monthly reports to board finance committeePartner closely with the Board Finance Committee and Head of School to support financial planning, budgeting and transparent communication.Provide financial insights into areas of risk, potential issues, and savingsManage tuition, financial aid, and payment systems with clarity and responsivenessWork closely with Advancement and Auxiliary Programs staff for pledges, billing, payments, and receipting related to after school programs, summer camp, and giving including the annual GalaManage banking relationships and accountsTuition Management & Financial AidMaintain accurate records and serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding tuition and payments.Collaborate closely with admissions to manage enrollment contractsOversee financial aid processes and (NSFS tuition assistance and French bourses scolaires) and liaise with applicants with discretion, clarity, and efficiencyHuman ResourcesServe as the on-site HR lead, ensuring clear communication and consistent processesMaintain organized and compliant employee records, benefits, and documentationSupport recruitment, onboarding, and contracts with professionalism and discretionLiaise effectively with external partnersManage MERIT paperwork and DCYF compliance for relevant employeesLeadership & Community EngagementAs part of the leadership team, build positive, trust-based relationships with families, staff, and partnersCoordinate school-wide logistics and events with strong planning and communicationContribute to strategic planning with a focus on operational excellence and sustainabilityWhat We’re Looking ForExceptional organizational and project management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, bilingual (French and English) and cross-cultural communication skills are a plusA collaborative mindset and ability to build effective working relationshipsExperience in operations, finance, and administration (school setting a plus)Ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and attention to detailComfort working in a bilingual, multicultural environmentA systems-oriented thinker capable of toggling between big-picture thinking and detailFamiliarity with financial and HR systems (e.g., QuickBooks, BBSI, or similar)Why Join North Seattle French SchoolBe part of a warm, international, and mission-driven school communityPlay a key leadership role with visible impact across the organizationContribute creatively to building strong operational systems in a maturing schoolSalary:This full-time position offers a salary range between $75,000 and $85,000 annually based on qualifications and prior experience.
