Join the Team at Eastside Food Co-op in the Heart of Northeast Minneapolis!* Night and Weekend availability required*HousekeeperREPORTS TO: Operations ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly EmployeeDEPARTMENT: AdministrationPURPOSE:To provide excellent customer service while maintaining a level of cleanliness that exceeds health code standards. To clean and maintain the retail sales floor, offices, restrooms, and employee spaces, keeping facilities in good running order.ALL CO-OP STAFF WILL:Use all available tools and resources in order to provide excellent and knowledgeable customer service to all customers, coworkers, and vendorsCommunicate professionally and respectfully with everyone you encounter while at workAdhere to all store and department policies and proceduresDemonstrate regular, predictable good attendanceAttend huddles and meetings as scheduledCommit to contributing to a positive, team-building work environmentALL HOUSEKEEPERS WILL:Sweep retail floor and all back stock and work areas multiple times dailyRemove trash and recycling that is not the responsibility of a specific departmentClean each restroom several times throughout shiftKeep mop and equipment areas clean and free of debrisWipe down tables and chairs of indoor and outdoor seating areas several times during shiftDust and keep orderly magazine racks and food shelf bins in entry vestibulesClean glass display doors on sales floor and polish chrome on casesScrub and keep clean hard-to-get-at areasClean break room dailyAssist Deli kitchen with dishwashing duties as neededPick-up and properly dispose of trash and debris from co-op property in parking lot, gardens, sidewalks, etc.Snow and ice removal of sidewalks and receiving areas as necessaryLandscaping maintenance, including weeding and watering, as necessaryStrictly follow all guidelines - including food safety and organic standards - for handling cleaning productsWork safely using safe body mechanics and good judgmentComplete tasks as assigned by the Operations ManagerFollow all Eastside Food Co-op and facilities policies and proceduresTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:High standards for facilities cleanliness and quality of workExceptional customer service skillsThe ability to balance multiple prioritiesSelf-motivation; comfortable taking initiative and prioritizing tasksAttention to detail and good organizational skillsWeekend and evening availabilityThe ability to work independently with limited and no supervisionPHYSICAL DEMANDSStanding, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time per shiftMovement of merchandise, equipment, and ladders throughout the store, not to exceed 50 pounds; pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 200 poundsEnvironmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezer, outdoors, etc.)Exposure to cleaning chemicals and suppliesRepetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulationImportant Notice: The job duties, elements, responsibilities, skills, functions, experience, educational factors, and the requirements and conditions listed in this job description are representative only and not exhaustive of the tasks that an employee may be required to perform.
