Apply via Dice today!We are looking for a Business System Analyst for our client in Toronto, CAJob Title: Business System AnalystJob Location: Toronto, CAJob Type: ContractJob Overview:Requirement/Must Have:Minimum 7 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in large-scale financial services or technology environments.Strong technical systems analysis and business requirements gathering experience.Deep expertise in payments systems, including Interac eTransfer and account transfer solutions.Strong understanding of the Canadian payments ecosystem and settlement lifecycle.Experience with APIs, REST/JSON, SQL, and system integration patterns.Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.Strong communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.Ability to work in fast-paced and regulated environments.Experience:Experience analyzing end-to-end payment flows including initiation, validation, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.Experience preparing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), use cases, process flows, and data mappings.Experience supporting payment tracking, entitlement management, fraud controls, and settlement cycles.Experience collaborating with architects and developers on API integrations and microservices-based systems.Experience supporting QA/UAT activities, defect triage, and root cause analysis.Experience working with commercial or corporate banking platforms.Experience supporting cloud-native and event-driven architectures.Experience with real-time or near real-time payment systems preferred.Responsibilities:Act as the liaison between business and technology teams.Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.Lead workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirement analysis sessions.Analyze and document payment workflows and system integrations.Create BRDs, FSDs, user stories, use cases, sequence diagrams, and data mappings.Provide subject matter expertise in Interac eTransfer processing and treasury cash management solutions.Collaborate with compliance and operations teams to ensure regulatory adherence.Support API-based integrations and downstream system connectivity.Participate in Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement activities.Assist QA and UAT teams with testing support and issue resolution.Contribute to release planning and go-live readiness activities.Should Have:Experience with RBC Edge digital banking platforms or similar cash management systems.Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards.Exposure to real-time payment systems.CBAP or Agile certification preferred.Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.Ability to balance business priorities with technical constraints.Skills:Business Systems Analysis.Payments and treasury cash management.Interac eTransfer processing.Requirements gathering and documentation.API integrations and REST/JSON.SQL and data analysis.Agile/Scrum methodologies.Process mapping and workflow analysis.System integration and architecture understanding.Stakeholder communication and collaboration.Qualification and Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.CBAP or Agile certification is a plus.
