Surveyor Position William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company is in search for a Surveyor for project work in Terre Haute, IN.Under supervision of Party Chief, applies skills and knowledge to determine degree of conformance of installation of materials and equipment to MasTec Industrial and/or Client specifications. Performs inspection and/or layout of various project activities. Join one of the largest construction firms in the country (Engineering News-Record [ENR]: #1 in Power, #16 Top 50 Domestic Heavy Contractors, #13 Transportation Contractor).Responsibilities · Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures· Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.· Calls out reading or writes station number and reading in notebook.· Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark.· Measures distance between survey points with steel or cloth tape or surveyor's chain.· Marks measuring points with markers, paint sticks, tacks, scribe, or stakes.· Holds level or stadia rod at designated points to assist in determining elevations and laying out stakes for mapmaking, construction, land, and other surveys.
